Access to WorkWant to get into work? Here at Action Acton we run a number of projects designed to help individuals get back to work. GRASP Project - the project providing basic skills training, (literacy and numeracy) and access to an Information Advice and Guidance worker. Basic Skills training leads to EDEXCEL qualifications, (Level 2) and is achieved via open learning. An IAG worker will then work with individuals to help identify education, training and employment opportunities and will work out an individual action plan. This service is available to unemployed adult residents of Acton and the surrounding area who have the right to work in the UK. Construction Projects - Helping unemployed individuals into training and work in the construction industry. Somali Equal Ace Project (SEAP) - Helping unemployed Somali and other individuals into skills for life and employment. Funded by the LDA. Reaching Out (Nord Anglia Lifetime Development) - Helping unemployed women. Providing short-term intervention assistance with all aspects of job search to Ealing residents looking for full or part-time work. Work includes skills assessment, preparation or amendment of CV’s/covering letters. On-to-one appointments with Advisors at Crown Street at office or Acton Jobcentre plus office. Funded by the LDA. Skills Bank (City Parochial Foundation) tackling poverty in London - Aimed at reducing high employment in Ealing and getting people into jobs above the minimum wage. To provide assistance with all aspects of job search to Ealing residents looking for full or part-time work, training or voluntary work including CV’s covering letters, employers liaison, internet and telephone access. One-to-one appointments with Advisor at Crown Street office. We will assist with advice and guidance, preparation of CV’s and application forms and sign posting to training of voluntary work for people not job ready and Jobsearch sessions for people wanting to re-enter the employment market.
