Access to Work

Want to get into work?

Here at Action Acton we run a number of projects designed to help individuals get back to work.

Somali Equal Ace Project (SEAP) - Helping unemployed Somali and other individuals into skills for life and employment. Funded by the LDA.

Skills Bank (City Parochial Foundation) tackling poverty in London  - Aimed at reducing high employment in Ealing and getting people into jobs above the minimum wage. To provide assistance with all aspects of job search to Ealing residents looking for full or part-time work, training or voluntary work including CV’s covering letters, employers liaison, internet and telephone access.  One-to-one appointments with Advisor at Crown Street office.

Ealing One Stop Shop Jobs Network funded by European Social Fund, Ealing Council and managed by London Councils.  Action Acton is the lead organisation on this project which has a network of eight local voluntary groups across LBE.
This is a job brokerage project where our qualified IAG Advisors would caseload clients and spend as much time as necessary in order to place them into either F/T-P/T sustainable employment or into a voluntary placement with a view to preparing them to go into sustainable employment. This project also provides 6 months aftercare support in order to ensure that the employment becomes sustainable for the client.
Entry criteria: unemployed/economically inactive and in receipt of any benefit (age 20+)

Work Directions, funded by the London Development Agency is a job brokerage project again targeting economically inactive/unemployed Ealing residents where our qualified IAG Advisors would caseload clients and spend as much time as necessary in order to place them into f/T-P/T sustainable employment.
Entry criteria: Job ready unemployed/economically inactive and in receipt of any benefit (age 20+)

Personal Best (LBE-Pan London) 2012 Olympic Project, where clients would undertake a diagnostic and skills for life assessment  and participate in a Personal Best Training course in preparation for the 2012 Olympics and join the rest of London to provide volunteers for the Olympic site and initiatives.
Entry criteria: unemployed/economically inactive and in receipt of any benefit (age 20+) and able to commit to the Personal Best Training Programme with a view to becoming a 2012 Olympic Volunteer
